Escape is the eight book of the modern Choose Your Own Adventure series, and the twentieth book of the classic series. It was written by R.A. Montgomery, and published in 1983 by Bantam Books.
Geopolitics of Escape[]
In the 1980’s and 90’s, the United States was ripped apart by both external and internal attacks. Since then, three counties have risen out of the rubble. These are:
Turtalia[]
Turtalia is the country you work for. It is a largely democratic country, spanning the northern part of the United States to the west of the Mississippi, and spans up into Canada. They are currently at a ceasefire with the Doradans to the south, but the Doradans plan to invade Turtalia.
Dorado[]
Dorado is a totalitarian state, their motto being “Totalitarian Freedom Forever”. They had captured you after you stole their invasion plans, but you were broken out, and now you have to get those invasion plans to the government of Turtalia. Not too hard. Right?
Rebellium[]
Rebellium is a country to the east of the Mississippi. They don’t really contribute much to the story, as they are only mentioned once in the introductory pages.
Plot[]
After the fall of the United States, you are working for the government of Turtalia, and your job is to deliver secret invasion plans from Dorado to the government of Turtalia, one official of which is your father. You go throughout the book making choice after choice, few of which will lead to a happy ending.
